Stuffed Shotgun Shells

We're talking big pasta shells loaded with tasty sausage, wrapped in bacon, and cooked to smoky perfection on the barbecue. It's a simple yet mouthwatering twist to your usual cookout, guaranteed to make your backyard the go-to spot for delicious eats. Ingredients:

  • 2 boxes of manicotti shells
  • 2 packages of regular bacon
  • 1 lb 90/10 ground beef
  • 1 lb sweet Italian sausage links
  • 8 oz farm cut shredded cheese
  • Meat Church Honey Hog BBQ Rub
  • 1 cup sweet BBQ sauce

Cooking Directions:

1. Remove Italian sausage from the casings. Mix the sausage, ground beef and shredded cheese in a large mixing bowl

2. Stuff the manicotti shells completely with the mixture.

3. Wrap each shell in one piece of bacon, covering as much of the shell as possible.

4. Season all sides of the shells with Meat Church Honey Hog BBQ Rub.

5. Place shells in refrigerator for at least 4 hours (overnight is best).

6. After the shells have sit for at least 4 hours, heat your smoker to 300 degrees (recommended woods are hickory or pecan).

7. Place shells on rack in the smoker for 1 hour.

8. Brush BBQ sauce on shells approximately 10 minutes prior to removal.

9. Remove and Enjoy!
